Every day, adults across East Texas work toward a brighter future through education. As a PAVE East Texas volunteer, you offer encouragement and support along the way. Whether you help someone learn to read, practice English, or build math skills, your time makes a lasting difference.
Here’s how you can help:
GED Services

Help adults prepare for the GED test in English or Spanish. The test covers four subjects: Reading and Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
You can help with:
One-on-one tutoring
Small group tutoring
Helping teachers in class
Math Bootcamp
Substitute teaching
Helping students online
College preparation
Your support helps students build confidence, pass their GED tests, and work toward their goals.
Basic Literacy Tutoring

Help adults who read below a third-grade level build their reading and writing skills. Through one-on-one tutoring, you’ll support students who are learning to read for the first time or improving their basic skills.
Your support helps students become more independent in daily life and work toward new goals.
ESL Services

Help adults practice reading, writing, and speaking English. You can help with:

English conversation practice

Your support helps students feel more confident using English in daily life.

This program helps parents and children learn together for free. While parents attend GED or English classes, their children receive care and learn in a preschool.
