Career Pathways Program

Part-Time Evenings

This is a part-time, hourly position scheduled for approximately 16 hours per week. Anticipated hours are Monday - Thursday, 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm at TJC West. This position reports to the Director of Career Pathways.  
Pay depends on experience, with a $15/hour base rate. 

Duties Include:

Administrative

  • Answer general phone calls and respond to emails. 

  • Maintain accurate student records and enter data into required reporting systems.

  • Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating student services. 

  • Help organize program events, meetings, orientations, and special activities. 

  • Support instructors and program staff with student-related needs and administrative tasks. 

  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and records. 

  • Provide general administrative support to Career Pathways students throughout their enrollment and participation in the program. 

Student Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for evening Career Pathways students at TJC West Campus. 

  • Assist with student enrollment, orientations, and completion of required program paperwork. 

  • Conduct student follow-up regarding attendance, persistence, educational goals, and barriers to participation. 

  • Communicate with students by phone, email, text message, and in person regarding appointments, classes, program services, and available resources. 

  • Connect students with appropriate internal and community resources as needed. 

  • Assist in maintaining a welcoming, professional, and student-centered learning environment. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. 

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet navigation. 

  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain confidentiality. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. 

  • Experience working with diverse adult populations preferred.
