Student Support Assistant
Part-Time Evenings, Bilingual
Duties include:
Serves as the first point of contact for evening students and visitors while providing bilingual customer service and administrative support for the GED program.
Front Desk & Student Services
Welcome students and visitors in a professional manner.
Provide program information and direct visitors appropriately.
Monitor building entrance and maintain a welcoming environment.
Administrative Support
Answer phones and respond to general inquiries.
Assist with enrollment paperwork and attendance records.
Prepare copies, organize files, and support instructors.
Student Support
Provide bilingual assistance for Spanish-speaking students.
Assist with basic technology questions.
Support registration events and evening program activities.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet navigation.
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain confidentiality.
Experience working with diverse adult populations preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
This is a part-time, hourly position scheduled for approximately 16 hours per week.
Anticipated hours are Monday - Thursday, 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm at First Christian Church. This position reports to the Director of GED Services.
Pay depends on experience, with a $15/hour base rate.
