Student Support Assistant

Part-Time Evenings, Bilingual

Duties include:

Serves as the first point of contact for evening students and visitors while providing bilingual customer service and administrative support for the GED program.

Front Desk & Student Services

  • Welcome students and visitors in a professional manner.

  • Provide program information and direct visitors appropriately.

  • Monitor building entrance and maintain a welcoming environment.

Administrative Support

  • Answer phones and respond to general inquiries.

  • Assist with enrollment paperwork and attendance records.

  • Prepare copies, organize files, and support instructors.

Student Support

  • Provide bilingual assistance for Spanish-speaking students.

  • Assist with basic technology questions.

  • Support registration events and evening program activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet navigation.

  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Experience working with diverse adult populations preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

This is a part-time, hourly position scheduled for approximately 16 hours per week.
Anticipated hours are Monday - Thursday, 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm at First Christian Church. This position reports to the Director of GED Services.
Pay depends on experience, with a $15/hour base rate.
