GED Instructor
Part-Time, Malakoff
This is a part-time position based in Malakoff, TX. The role may be scheduled for 12 hours per week, covering instruction and preparation time. Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Position reports to the Director of Offsite Programs.
Pay: Depends on experience, with a base rate of $19/hour.
Duties Include:
Design, plan, organize, and deliver contextualized learning instruction for GED students.
Use varied methods of instruction to deliver materials and instruct adult students.
Facilitate a classroom of 10+ students from diverse backgrounds at varying education levels
Assist with coordinating local volunteers to support classroom instruction and student learning
Maintain attendance documentation and participate in bi-monthly GED teacher meetings in Tyler (6 per year)
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous experience with teaching or instruction preferred
Strong time management and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to gather and collect data for reporting
Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience teaching a diverse population of adult learners in a multi-level setting
Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning
